Glass Gardens is a Norfolk based popup shop known for its terrarium workshops and events around town and the greater Hampton Roads area. Started initially as a hobby in 2012, John R. Wharton wanted a way to connect with the community and share the joy and peace he found in plants. You might have found him popping up outside Handsome Biscuit, at the Plot, during various NEON events, and hosting terrarium workshops in breweries, bars, and restaurants around Ghent.

John still pops up occasionally at O'Connors or Wild Card Books and Arts, and will continue hosting terrarium workshops at the Birch and the Norfolk Botanical Garden from time to time.

Glass Gardens crafts custom terrarium and succulent arrangements for weddings and other special events. Contact John if you'd like to have Glass Gardens featured at your event.

More than just a shop

Glass Gardens is about art. It's about creativity, expressing passion, and connecting with others and sharing experience. It's about not being afraid to follow your dreams. It's about sharing smiles. It's about making the world beautiful because not all art requires a canvas.
